I'd prefer the story to come from the creators themselves so refer here first. Briefly, Jen Bekman's 20 x 200 series is a great way to begin a fun collection of your own. Each week one editioned photo and one work on paper is released. The smaller sizes are $20, bigger pieces up to $100.
My current studies make me feel a little guilty about the need to acquire art (damn you Marcel Broodthaers and Marxist critique) BUT, this is a fun and affordable way to do it. Plus, why color your walls with some stupid poster from Ikea or a gift shop when you can buy an original work of art that is far more unique?
