intern at the Felix Gonzalez-Torres Foundation

a great opportunity to share...
The Felix Gonzalez-Torres Foundation seeks an intern.

The ideal candidate would be an Art History major with a focus on Modern and Contemporary Art. However all interested parties should apply.

The major responsibility of the intern is to assist the Director of Operations and Project Manager with the Foundation’s press archives and archives which document the history of individual works by Felix Gonzalez-Torres. However, depending on the interest of the applicant and the changing needs of the Foundation, other duties could be included.

The internship would be one to two days per week and though the position is unpaid, lunch will be provided. Interested applicants should send a cover letter in the body of an email and an attached resume to Boshko Boskovic, Project Manager, at b.boskovic@felixgonzalez-torresfoundation.org. No phone calls please.

Felix Gonzalez-Torres (1957-1996) is one of the most significant artists of the last twenty years. His work has been the focus of several major one-person museum exhibitions. Retrospectives of his work have been organized by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (1995), the Sprengel Museum in Hanover (1997), the Serpentine Gallery, London (1999), and the Hamburger Bahnhof, Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Berlin (2006). In 2007 Gonzalez-Torres posthumously represented the United States at the 52nd Venice Biennale. Currently, among various other exhibitions, Gonzalez-Torres’ work can be seen in retrospectives at the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporaneo in Mexico City, and a retrospective at the Wiels Center for Contemporary Art, Brussels, which will travel to the Fondation Beyeler, Basel and the Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt am Main during 2010-2011.
